Working Principle Of Suspension Link Bushings

Feb 11, 2026

Force Transmission and Support:
As rigid connection points, link bushings transmit the forces acting on the main control arm, locating arm, upper and lower control arms (such as longitudinal, lateral, and vertical forces) to the vehicle body or subframe, ensuring the overall structural stability of the suspension system.

Constraining Degrees of Freedom:
Through precisely designed mounting angles and hinge methods, the bushings restrict unintended movements of the links, keeping the wheels' preset alignment parameters such as toe angle and camber angle during hopping, thereby improving handling stability.

Damping and Durability:
Some bushings use rubber or hydraulic liners to absorb high-frequency vibrations, reduce noise, and extend the service life of the links and vehicle body structures.

Coordinating with Overall Suspension Movement:
When the vehicle passes over bumpy roads, the links swing at the bushings, working with springs and shock absorbers to complete compression and rebound, maintaining tire contact with the road, enhancing comfort and grip.
