Tips for Using Zinc-Aluminum Alloy Bushings

Selection and Installation Points:
Confirm Material Grade: Preferably select ZA27-2 zinc-aluminum alloy that meets national standards (such as ZZnAl27Cu2Mg), with approximately 27% aluminum and 2% copper, providing excellent load-bearing and wear-resistant performance.

Match Clearance Fit: Zinc-aluminum alloy bushings are usually used in sliding bearings or journal bearings. Ensure an appropriate clearance fit with the shaft to avoid jamming if too tight or vibration if too loose.

Avoid Impact Loads: Although it has certain strength, it is not recommended for parts frequently subjected to high impact or alternating loads. Consider adding cushioning structures.

Lubrication Management:
Prefer Boundary or Drip Lubrication: ZA27-2 performs well under boundary lubrication conditions; periodically refill lubricating oil to reduce wear.

Self-Lubricating Bushings Can Have Built-in Lubrication Channels: Some wear-resistant bushings are designed with oil outlets and silicone-sealed oil reservoirs, allowing lubricant injection with a syringe to automatically lubricate the friction surface and extend service life.

Avoid Dry Friction: Even if the material is wear-resistant, long-term dry friction accelerates wear; maintain base lubrication.

Environmental Adaptability:
Wide Temperature Range: Some products can operate between -200°C and 280°C, suitable for high or low temperature environments.

Good Corrosion Resistance: Stable performance in general industrial atmospheres and freshwater environments. If used in strong acid, strong alkali, or salt spray environments, surface plating (such as galvanization) or protective coatings are recommended.

Maintenance and Replacement:
Regularly Check Wear Condition: Determine if replacement is needed by measuring the inner diameter to prevent reduced equipment accuracy due to excessive clearance.

Protect Shaft Journals During Disassembly: Zinc-aluminum alloy is relatively soft; avoid prying with hard objects during removal to prevent scratching the mating shaft surface.
