The excavator boom cast steel seat is a core heavy-duty hinged cast steel part of the excavator working device. It is integrally cast and mainly welded and assembled to the main body of the excavator boom. Serving as the key load-bearing base for the hinge connection of boom pin shafts, hydraulic cylinders and arm links, it withstands operating impact, alternating loads and torsional loads.
It is manufactured from engineering carbon cast steel, with commonly used national standard grades ZG230-450 and ZG270-500.
The equivalent European and American standard grades are as follows:
European Standard: GP240GH, C25 engineering carbon cast steel
American Standard: ASTM A216 WCB carbon cast steel (the most commonly used equivalent grade)
The material features high strength, good toughness, excellent weldability, great impact resistance and fatigue resistance, perfectly adapting to on-site welding conditions of the boom. After normalizing / annealing heat treatment, the internal microstructure is dense, free from harmful defects such as shrinkage cavities, porosity and cracks.
The integral cast structure replaces fabricated plate welding, featuring uniform stress distribution and high resistance to cracking and deformation. It adapts to severe working conditions such as mining, earthwork and heavy-load construction sites for excavators of all tonnages, and acts as a critical component for structural safety and service life extension of the excavator boom.
